Most Employers in Minnesota are required to purchase workers’ compensation insurance. The state does not regulate the classification codes used by businesses that voluntarily provide workers compensation insurance. Although the State of Minnesota administers its own rating bureau NCCI is used to report loss and payroll information for interstate companies. The state bureau is the Minnesota Workers’ Compensation Insurance Association.
